St Justinian was possibly from Brittany and was a friend of St David. He lived as a hermit on Ramsey Island just off the coast of St David’s. He was reputedly killed by evildoers. A 14C pilgrim church, also built on early foundations, lies opposite the island on the mainland at Llanstinian near Fishguard.
