Saint Felec Ascetic

Reposed 5/6C? Remembered November 20

St Felec was an early British saint of 5/6 centuries at Phillack close to the Hayle estuary. Above the church porch at Phillack is an early Chi-Rho symbol which may date to 5C. There may even have been a Christian community here from Roman times. A splendid early cross with regnant Christ can be seen in the churchyard. There is also a holy well.

St Felec is not to be confused with either St Felix or St Felicitas.
