St Meriasek (Meriadek) was an early Breton saint. He renounced a royal inheritance and became a priest. He crossed over into Cornwall and founded an oratory in Cambourne. When persecuted by the local king he returned to Brittany. He became well known for his miracles and healing. Made bishop of Vannes he continued to wear his hair shirt. He was buried in the cathedral. He has a well in Cambourne.
