Saint Arraght or Attracta Abbess

St Arraght is said to have taken the veil from St Patrick. She founded a hospice for travellers at Killaraght (‘church of Attracta’) near Lough Gara Co Sligo. The hostel lasted till 1539. The convents she founded were famous for their hospitality and care for the poor. There is a holy well in the roadside.
