St Jarlath was a disciple of St Enda. He founded the monastery of Tuam Co Galway. He taught St Brendan of Ardfert and St Colman of Cloyne. He was known as a man of prayer doing 300 prostrations by day and 300 by night who had the gift of prophecy. He was also known for his generosity.
There is a fine High Cross inside the Church of Ireland Cathedral in Tuam.
