Saint Bean Ascetic

St Bean is said to have been a monk of Iona and a cousin of St Columba. He preached among the Picts around Fowlis Wester in Perthshire where there is a large fine Cross slab of the 8/9 century. On one of them sit two priests in vestments.

He also evangelised Strathglass in the Highland Glens west of Loch Ness.
