Saint Odran Abbot

Reposed 548 Remembered October 27

St Odran was an Irish abbot in Meath. He was related to St Columba though exactly how we are not sure, and he went to Iona before St Columba. He is said to have been buried alive – a surely unsolved mystery! The 12C chapel next to the abbey is dedicated to him, as is the burial ground around it. He is not to be confused with a disciple of St Patrick of the same name.
