Saint Hybald Abbot

St Hybald is described by St Bede as ‘a most holy and continent man’and abbot in Lindsey, a Saxon kingdom roughly the area of Lincolnshire. A friend of St Chad he became a hermit. He is buried at Hibaldstow. His grave and body, with crozier, was discovered in 1866 and was reburied near the chancel.
