Reposed 732 Remembered July 13

St Mildred was the daughter of St Ermenburga. She was sent to a French monastery to be educated. On return to England she was given the veil by St Theodore of Canterbury. After St Ermenburga’s death she became abbess.
The present Minster Abbey is a house which contains part of the old Saxon Abbey which is now occupied by some Benedictine sisters. They possess a relic of St Mildred.
