St Sexburga was a Queen of Kent who had several sainted sisters. She founded the monastery of Minster-in-Sheppey where her daughter Ermenilda was a nun. She moved to the monastery at Ely where her sister Etheldreda was abbess; she eventually succeeded her as abbess and had her sisters uncorrupt body exhumed.
