Saint Ninnid Abbot

St Ninnid was a disciple of St Finian of Clonard and was regarded as one of the twelve apostles of Ireland. He founded a monastery on the island of Inismacsaint in Lough Erne Co Fermanagh. He had only one eye. He ministered to St Brigid on her deathbed.

Access to the island is just possible by means of a hand operated chain pontoon.
